Board Member Roles and Responsibilities
As a board member, you will:
Strategic Planning: Actively participate in shaping and implementing the organization's strategic goals and initiatives.
Program Support: Provide input and support to the development and enhancement of programs that directly benefit young adults experiencing homelessness.
Community Engagement: Assist in building and maintaining relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and potential collaborators to strengthen the organization's impact.
Advocacy: Advocate for policies and initiatives that address the unique challenges faced by young adults experiencing homelessness.
Fundraising: Contribute to fundraising efforts by leveraging personal networks, identifying potential donors, and actively participating in fundraising events.
Governance: Adhere to governance best practices, attend board meetings regularly, and actively participate in board discussions and decision-making.
Volunteerism: Support the organization through volunteer activities and engagement, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
A passion for KHYP’s mission and youth homelessness advocacy.
Willingness to actively participate in board meetings, committee work, and organizational events.
Skills and expertise in areas such as fundraising, marketing, legal, finance, or program development.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
